PA718 - THE THREE MUSKETEERS
- THE CARDINAL'S SIDE
Set in the France of the early Seventeenth
century The Three Musketeers is the story of the struggle
between the two centers of power, the church and the
monarchy, between the ineffectual Louis XIII and his
flamboyant court and the scheming Cardinal Richelieu
and his agents. Both factions employed elite bodyguards
which commanded great prestige:The king's Musketeers
and the Cardinal's Musketeers. The Adventures of the
Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis with their young
ally D'Artagnan are immortalized in the classic works
of Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers, The Four
Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask.

The opposition chess side is the Kings
Musketeers.

There are three molds,
one for the king and queen, one for the bishop and
knight and one for the castle (rook) and the pawns.
The image is to show how they can look when cast and
painted. The chess board is not included. |
