These are three
unpainted metal 28mm scale Roman Legion
figures. There is some assembly required (e.g.: glueing
the shield to the figure). The photo below is for illustration
only.
The Primus Pilus
was the senior Centurion in charge of the first Cohort,
all veterans of many campaigns. The Tribune was one
of six officers in the Legion, often a noble who planned
to use the position to jumpstart his political career.
The Signifer was in each Century of Legionaries and
carried the symbol of that Century and any honors that
it earned. Legionaries would follow the banner in battle
to guide them to where they were supposed to move to.
To lose that banner was humiliating for that group.
